Ditch the complicated relationship you have with the standard crouton -which may be delicious but is nutritionally negative. Our crouton recipe brings all the flavour with the added bonus of protein and fibre.
For this batch
- 1 pkg Classic Flatbread Mix
- 1/3 C water
- 2/3 C of your favourite salad dressing*
Pour into parchment-lined cookie sheet and shake gently to self-level.
Let rest for 30 minutes to let the moisture absorb.
Bake for 60 minutes at 300 degrees.
Ensure it is “dry”. It will crumble as you remove it from the parchment paper.
Store in refrigerator. Add to salad or pasta as you would a topping, or eat it as a snack!
*For real decadence, match the salad dressing with the salad. For example, use Caesar salad dressing for Caesar salad “croutons”.
