Greek Pie
Phyllo pastry
1/2 cup melted butter
500 gr Ricotta cheese
2 cups ground beef/ Babz Classic
1 cup Arrabiata sauce
2 cups or frozen spinach
1 cup red onion
1/4 cup fresh Basil
1/4 cup sun dried tomatoes/sun dried olives
1 tsp Herbs de Provence/
(Marjoram, Sage, Rosemary, Thyme, Savory, Lavender)
Prepare all ingredients before doing pastry.
Mix sauce into meat.
Chop fresh spinach or thaw and drain frozen.
Thinly Slice red onion.
Chop basil & tomatoes/olives
Brush butter between layers of pastry and line a spring form pan.
Spread ricotta cheese on top of pastry.
Add tomato & meat mixture.
Distribute onions, spinach, basil on top and sprinkle spice over all.
Fold pastry around edge & brush with melted butter.
Bake at 400 for 25 min.
Let sit for 5-10 minutes & then release the sides of pan. Slide on plate and slice.
I served it with fried zucchini & fried halloumi cheese.
